Bourne Sport
Bourne Sport is a subsidiary of Bourne Amenity and provides a complete sports turf construction service, from design to build and maintenance. Given our already close affiliation to the sports turf industry, it was a natural transition into the construction and maintenance of sports facilities across the south-east of the UK.
Bourne
John Bourne & Co have been trading since 1947, initially as agricultural lime merchants and haulage contractors, then latterly as national suppliers and contractors to the sports turf and landscape industries. Today we are one of the UK’s largest manufacturers and hauliers of bulk soils, sports dressings, aggregates, lime and composts.
We operate a thirty strong fleet ranging from standard eight wheel tipper vehicles to high sided grab vehicles and our latest acquisition, the country’s very first rigid body with walking floor offload. We are located at four sites across the south-east of the UK and produce over a thousand tonne of topsoil, sports dressings and substrate blends per week, utilising our haulage fleet for precision and flexible delivery.
Seventy years on, we continue to push ourselves to offer the very highest standard in service and quality to our rapidly expanding customer base.
Bourne Amenity
Bourne Amenity was conceived from the John Bourne & Co brand in the early 1990’s in order to service the growing demand for high quality sports turf products, in particular following the boom in golf course construction in the south-east. Since then we have developed and evolved our product range to offer the country’s most comprehensive selection of high quality landscaping and sports turf materials.
Through our work on the 2012 Olympic project we were able to develop an understanding of the topsoil and substrate industry that gave us the edge in an increasingly technical marketplace. We now deal with the country’s leading landscapers, architects and house builders on some of the most prestigious sites in the UK. Our ability to match bespoke specifications, from standard planting schemes to roof gardens, has put us at the forefront of the industry and allowed us to become the go-to firm for unique and challenging projects.
We offer a wide range of sports turf materials from high specified dressing blends, to USGA (U.S. Golf Association) sands and rootzones. Our materials are all primary and of the highest consistency, thanks to our rigorous testing regimes. Working with our sister company John Bourne & Co. gives us access to a dedicated fleet of vehicles, providing the flexibility and competence that modern day schemes require.
